Brooks Bandits forward Nick Peluso, Victoria Grizzlies forward Reegan Hiscock and Penticton Vees goaltender Will Ingemann have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.
1st Star – Nick Peluso (F) – Brooks Bandits
Peluso put up five points in three games against the Penticton Vees in the Interior Conference Final last week. After the Bandits were shutout on Monday, the 2004-born forward helped his team bounce back in Game 4, as he totaled two goals and two assists in the Bandits 6-3 win, earning first star of the game. In Game 5 on Friday, Peluso assisted on the Bandits opening goal in a 3-2 loss.
After his big week, the Rochester, N.Y. native is second in playoff scoring with 20 points in 14 games.
2nd Star – Reegan Hiscock (F) – Victoria Grizzlies
Hiscock recorded two goals and two assists in three games last week in the Coastal Conference Final against the Chilliwack Chiefs.
The third-year BCHL standout did all of his damage in Game 5 of the series last Friday. With the Grizzlies down 2-0 in the first period, he recorded a goal and an assist before intermission to tie the game, then scored his 10th of the postseason in the middle frame to give Victoria the lead. With his team down two again in the third, he recorded his fourth point of the game with an assist, but the comeback fell short in a 5-4 loss that saw the Chiefs advance.
Hiscock is currently leading the playoff points race with 21 in 17 contest.
3rd Star – Will Ingemann (G) – Penticton Vees
Ingemann appeared in two of three games for Penticton last week in their Interior Conference Final matchup against the Brooks Bandits and recorded one win with a .948 save percentage and a 1.67 goals-against average.
In Game 4 on Tuesday night, the second-year Vees netminder came on in relief 11:05 into the first period with his team down 3-0. He proceeded to stop 24 of 25 shots, allowing Penticton to cut the lead to just one goal late before two empty-netters made it a 6-3 final. Ingemann got the start in Game 5 last Friday and was the first star, stopping 31 of 33 shots to extend the Vees season and force a Game 6 after a 3-2 victory.
The University of St. Thomas commit owns a 1.77 goals-against average in the playoffs, second best in the league, while his .926 save percentage is tied for fourth.
