Penticton sponsors teaming up for Christmas Charity Challenge

The Christmas Charity Challenge bounty is now up to $25,000. If 3,500 fans attend the Penticton Vees vs. Vernon Vipers game at the South Okanagan Events Centre on Saturday, a total of $25,000 will be delivered to a multitude of local charities.

Here’s the status of event donors and charities as of Wednesday at 4:30 PM.

Businesses and charities involved in the Christmas Charity Challenge thus far:

* The Mortgage Centre – Be An Angel Campaign (Okanagan Boys & Girls Club)

* Brian and Joni Cutler: Coldwell Banker – SOWINS (South Okanagan Women in Need Society)

Last word from the SOEC has just over 2000 tickets sold for Saturday’s Christmas Charity Challenge. Tickets are 2-for-1 with a non-perishable food donation to the Salvation Army and beer, concession items and hotdogs are just $2.

The staff at the SOEC are encouraging fans to pre-purchase their ticket to avoid a logjam at the box office on Saturday. The SOEC Box Office is open from 10-5 through to Saturday’s event. You can also purchase tickets at ValleyFirstTix.com, or stop by London Drugs and White Spot.
