Pharaon inks with Tigers

Coming into his rookie BCHL season, Alberni Valley Bulldogs defenceman already displayed the classroom acumen to get into pretty much any NCAA program he wanted.

Through a dozen games on the ice, he’s proven enough to land a scholarship to prestigious Princeton University.

The native of Vancouver has three assists from the blueline so far for the Bulldogs and has provided a steadying influence that has helped Alberni Valley to a 6-5-1-1 mark and third spot in the Island Division.

Pharaon has the rest of the season to round out his game and test himself against BCHL competition before heading to college. He is set to join the Tigers program for the 2018-19 season.

Princeton competes in the NCAA’s ECAC Hockey conference along with Quinnipiac, Harvard, Yale, St. Lawrence, Clarkson, Cornell, Brown, Colgate, RPI, Union and Dartmouth.

BCHL alums on the Tigers roster for this season are Josh Teves, Max Becker, Jackson Cressey, Jeremy Germain and Reid Yochim. The Tigers are coached by Ron Fogarty and last season advanced to the ECAC Hockey quarter-finals before being defeated in overtime by Union.
