Powell River’s Parker Lalonde named High School Player of the Month

Powell River Kings forward Parker Lalonde has been named the February High School Player of the Month, presented by Eligibility Wizard.

This award is for players 18-years-old or younger who are attending high school full time and is based on in-class and on-ice performance.

Lalonde racked up nine points in 11 February games on five goals and four assists. He began the month on a five-game point streak and put forth multiple-point efforts on two separate occasions.

The 18-year-old leads the Kings in points (36), goals (16) and assists (20) in 48 games played.

Lalonde is taking online courses this year through Partners in Education and has earned an A letter grade in nearly every class he has taken. He recently earned a 97 per cent grade in Math and Pre-Calculus, a 95 in Social Studies and 92 in Literary Studies.

Lalonde recently earned an NCAA Division I scholarship to Minnesota State University.
