Rawlings earns more recognition for stellar play between the pipes

Northeastern University netminder and Cowichan Valley Capitals grad Chris Rawlings started all five games for Northeastern in December and only surrendered more than two goals on one occasion, turning in a 1.97 GAA and a .933 save percentage.

Rawlings' performance earned him the Hockey East conference's Goaltender of the Month award.

Rawlings did not lose a game in last month, amassing a 4-0-1 mark, playing every minute (305:00). He notched 30+ saves twice in the month, including 38 on Dec. 10 in the victory vs. UMass-Lowell,

The North Delta, B.C. product was named the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week award on Dec. 12 and has now received four conference awards for his stellar defensive play this season alone.

In 160 career BCHL games over four seasons spent with Salmon Arm, Powell River and Cowichan Valley,, the 6-foot-5, 210-pound stopper recorded an 87-59-4 mark with eight shutouts.
