Series shifts to Powell River for Game 3

The BCHL's Fred Page Cup  Finals move from the South Okanagan to the Sunshine Coast for Game 3 Tuesday night with the Penticton Vees leading the Powell River Kings in the best-of-seven series 2-0.

Series notes:

– Vees goalie Chad Katunar has made 71 saves on 73 shots through two Finals games and now leads playoff goalies with a 1.63 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage.

– Kings goalie Sean Maguire is next with a 1.94 GAA and .940 save percentage and has faced 30 more shots than Katunar in the postseason.

– Joey Benik has a goal in each game of the series so far and now leads the playoff scoring derby with eight goals and eight assists in 13 games.

– Cohen Adair is the Kings leading playoff scorer with five goals and seven assists. He had one helper in Game 1.

– In the only regular season meeting between the Kings and Vees on Dec. 17, Penticton's Mario Lucia had a hat trick while Mike Reilly had a goal and three assists in a 7-2 Vees win. Powell River was without Evan Richardson for that game.

– Powell River's power play, which operated at 19 per cent in the regular sesaon, is at just 12 per cent in the playoffs while Penticton's penalty killing, 86 per cent in the regular season, has boosted to 92 per cent in the playoffs.

– Powell River is 29-5-1-1 at home this season (regular season and playoffs combined) while Penticton has fashioned a 29-5-0-1 road record.
