Shedd, Lottin, Free named NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week

Chilliwack Chiefs defenceman Tucker Shedd, Chiefs forward Enzo Lottin and Brooks Bandits forward Nathan Free have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.

1st Star – Tucker Shedd (F) – Chilliwack Chiefs

Shedd picked up seven points in three games last week, scoring three goals and adding four helpers in a trio of Chiefs wins.

In Chilliwack’s home date with the Langley Rivermen last Wednesday, Shedd registered an opening-period assist on his team’s first goal of the game, then scored one of his own in the second to finish with two points in an 8-2 victory.

The Holt, Mich. product continued his hot streak on Friday night in the Chiefs 5-2 home win over the Powell River Kings. Shedd picked up a point in all three periods, chipping in with an assist in the first and second and a goal in the third, to finish with a season-best three points on the night and earn first star honours.

He wrapped up his week with yet another multi-point performance, this time with a goal and a helper on Saturday in Chilliwack’s 6-1 triumph against the Nanaimo Clippers. He was named first star of the game for the second straight night.

Shedd now has multiple points in four straight contests and has climbed into a tie for fifth in scoring among BCHL defencemen with 13 points in 16 games.

2nd Star – Enzo Lottin (F) – Chilliwack Chiefs

Lottin was another key contributor to Chilliwack’s three wins last week, piling up three goals and four assists for seven points over that stretch.

In last Wednesday’s game against the Langley Rivermen, Lottin had his best game in a Chiefs uniform, picking up five points in an 8-2 victory. The 16-year-old rookie had a goal and an assist through the first two periods, then helped Chilliwack pull away in the third with another goal and two assists to give them a six-goal edge. His two-goal, three-assists performance earned him first star of the game,

On Friday, he scored his fourth goal of the season in a 5-2 win against the Powell River Kings, then had an assist on Saturday in his team’s 6-1 victory over the Nanaimo Clippers.

Lottin now has 11 points in 16 games on the season and has helped guide the Chiefs to an 11-3-2-0 record this year, good enough for first place in the Coastal Conference.

3rd Star – Nathan Free (F) – Brooks Bandits

Free picked up four goals and two assists for six points in three games last week.

In last Wednesday’s road clash with the Trail Smoke Eaters, the 18-year-old totaled two primary assists in the first period, helping Brooks to a lead at intermission in an eventual 5-2 victory.

Their road trip continued in West Kelowna on Friday with a matchup against the Warriors where Free scored a power-play goal in the Bandits 4-1 win.

In his final game of the week on Saturday against the Penticton Vees, Free registering his first hat trick in the BCHL in his team’s 6-2 triumph. The Calgary, Alta. native scored another power-play goal in the second period, his fourth with the man advantage this season, to put Brooks up 4-0. He scored again in the second and one more time in the third to complete the three-goal night and was named first star of the game.

Free now has 22 points in 15 games this year, tied for second most in the BCHL, while his 11 goals are also tied for second in the league.
