Trail’s Jacklin commits to Robert Morris

The British Columbia Hockey League’s Trail Smoke Eaters are pleased to announce that 20-year old forward Scott Jacklin has committed to attend Robert Morris University and suit up for the NCAA Division I Colonials.

Jacklin is enjoying an outstanding offensive season, as his four goals and 17 assists through 12 games are good for fifth in league scoring. The Kimberley, B.C. product enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2009/10 when he set career highs with 24 goals and 69 points.

He was acquired at the 2009 trade deadline from Cowichan Valley and has posted 142 games in 170 games during his three-plus seasons in the BCHL.

“To say that Scott is deserving of this scholarship is an understatement” says Smoke Eaters Head Coach/GM Jim Ingram. “Scott has worked very hard in the classroom and on the ice to achieve his goal of securing an NCAA Division I scholarship”.

Jacklin joins linemates Sam Mellor (University of Alaska Anchorage) and Travis St. Denis (Quinnipiac) as well as 17-year old defenceman Eric Walker (Northern Michigan) as Trail players who have secured college scholarships for future seasons.
