Trio of BCHL grads headline AHL Canadian All-Stars

Three former BC Hockey League players are set to take on the world at the American Hockey League's All-Star Classic on January 26th.

Longtime AHL star and former Chilliwack Chiefs forward Jason Krog is back at the event after winning regular season and playoff MVP honours a year ago. Krog currently sits in a tie for fifth in league scoring with 15 goals and 31 assists in 39 games.

Joining Krog are two first-time All-Stars with BCHL roots. Vernon Vipers alum Mike Santorelli has been a point-a-game player with the Milwaukee Admirals this season, with 13 goals and 28 assists to show for 37 outings.

Meanwhile, Lake Erie's Kyle Cumiskey, a former Penticton Panthers blueliner, will also suit up in Worcester, Mass. Cumiskey has recorded four goals and 12 assists in 26 games.

Each of Krog, Santorelli and Cumiskey has played a handful of games with their team's National Hockey League parent club. Krog scored one goal in an early call-up with the Vancouver Canucks while Santorelli and Cumiskey have combined to dress in 11 games with the Nashville Predators and Colorado Avalanche respectively.

The 2009 American Hockey League All-Star Classic takes place on Monday, January 26th at 4:00 PM pacific time and can be seen on TSN. It will be preceded by a skills competition on Sunday, January 25th.
