Alberni Valley Bulldogs goaltender Callum Tung, Salmon Arm Silverbacks forward Nathan Mackie and Bulldogs forward Hayden Stavroff have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.

1st Star – Callum Tung (G) – Alberni Valley Bulldogs

Tung won all three of his starts last week and posted a sparkling .970 save percentage and a 1.00 goal-against average after stopping 98 of the 101 shots he faced. He was named first star in all three of those contests.

In Game 7 of Alberni’s Round 1 matchup with the Coquitlam Express, Tung stopped 36 of 37 shots, including all 16 he faced in the first period alone, to lead the Bulldogs to the 4-1 win and the series victory.

The Port Moody, B.C. product kept things rolling in the first game of Round 2 against the Chilliwack Chiefs, stopping 29 of 30 shots in a 3-1 win, then denying 33 of 34 attempts the following night in another 3-1 win to give his team a 2-0 series advantage.

Tung’s save percentage has climbed to .939 in the postseason, which is fourth best in the league, while his 2.07 goals-against average is sixth lowest in the playoffs.

2nd Star – Nathan Mackie (F) – Salmon Arm Silverbacks

Mackie averaged three points per contest over Salmon Arm’s opening two games of the second round against the West Kelowna Warriors, putting up a pair of goals and four assists.

The Silverbacks captain notched his second-career four-point playoff game in Friday night’s series opener on the road. Mackie scored the first goal of the game in the second period, then registered three assists in the third to help Salmon Arm pull away and earn a 6-1 victory. He was named first star of the game.

On Saturday in Game 2, the Kelowna, B.C. product opened the scoring for a second game in a row and later added a helper to finish with two points in an eventual 5-4 overtime loss.

Mackie now has eight points through eight playoff contests and is tied for second in team scoring.

3rd Star – Hayden Stavroff (F) – Alberni Valley Bulldogs

Stavroff continued to fill the net last week, burying four goals in three games and adding a pair of assists for six points.

The BCHL’s regular-season goal-scoring leader came up clutch for the Bulldogs in Game 7 of their first-round series last Tuesday, scoring once and adding a helper in their 4-1 clincher over Coquitlam.

Stavroff did not miss a beat to start Round 2 as he scored Alberni Valley’s first goal of the series on Friday night, then earned the primary assist on their insurance goal in the third period as they skated to a 3-1 victory over the Chilliwack Chiefs.

In Game 2 on Saturday, the Dartmouth College commit scored another two goals, including the game-winner with 21 seconds to play in the middle frame.

Stavroff’s eight goals are tops in the BCHL Playoffs and his 12 points are second in the league.
