Vees close out stellar October with 10th win in 11 games

The Penticton Vees put the finishing touches on an oustanding October, picking up their tenth win in 11 games with a 4-1 home ice victory over the Merritt Centennials.

Ryan Viselli put the Vees out front early, converting on a Taylor Peters feed at the 7:30 mark of the first period. Logan Johnston doubled Penticton's advantage late in the second period, while Garrett Milan and Eric Filiou rounded out the Vees offence in the third.

Johnston was named the game's first star following a two-point night.

Alex Valenti broke Billy Faust's shutout bid at the 13:41 mark of the third period. Faust, however, did pick up his first BCHL win with a 17-save performance.

Centennials starter Riley Wall pick up a third star nod after a 38-save effort that ultimately came in a losing cause.

Penticton is now idle through the week before beginning their November calendar with a visit from the Langley Chiefs on Friday. Merritt, meanwhile, returns home to face the Surrey Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
