Vees get quintet of tallies from Connor Reilly in win over Warriors

There was no stopping Connor Reilly Saturday night in Westside as the Chanhassen, Minn. native went off four five goals in a 7-4 Penticton Vees win over the Warriors.

Reilly opened the scoring at 4:08 of the first but was not nearly done there. He got his second just past the midway point of the first and completed the hat trick early in the second and added the fourth at 12:23. The score was 6-3 after two.

Goal #5 came at 10:21 of the third for Reilly who also had an assist. Dru Morrison scored shortly after for Westside and wound up with two on the night.

In Alberni Valley, the Bulldogs got flawless netminding from Max Fenkell in a 4-0 win over the Langley Rivermen. All four 'Dogs goals came on the power play starting with Artsiom Kalashnikov's near midway of the first. 1st Star Tyler Berkholtz got the first of his two early in the second and Lars Hepso had the other.

A see-saw affair went down in Chilliwack with the Chiefs taking a 4-3 overtime decision over the Salmon Arm SilverBacks. The Chiefs led 2-0 after one only to see Bryce Gervais tie it in the second with a pair and Kody Dhaliwal give the visitors the lead. Malcolm Gould tied it midway through the third and Trevor Hills won it 1:56 into OT.

The Coquitlam Express built a 4-2 lead but couldn't hang on to it as the visiting Cowichan Valley Capitals scored the final three goals of the game including the OT winner from Darrin Robak. Alex Petan had a goal and two assists for the Express while Matt Brown had two goals and two helpers for the Caps.

The other overtime game Saturday night was a 2-1 win for the Vernon Vipers over the Trail Smoke Eaters. Vernon opened the scoring on Colton Sparrow's marker but Garrett McMullen tied it late in the second. Darren Nowick ended things 15 seconds into the second OT.

After a scoreless first in Powell River, the Nanaimo Clippers tallied three in the second including a pair from Andrew Gladiuk on their way to a 4-2 win. Daniel Schuler had opened the scoring for the Kings early in the second before the three straight Clips goals. Nanaimo's Jesse Neher made it 4-1 in the third and Cohen Adair got the last tally for the Kings.
