Vees grad Manderson signs pro contract with Red Bull Salzburg

The British Columbia Hockey League's Penticton Vees are proud to announce that graduating forward Denver Manderson has secured a contract to play with EC Red Bull Salzburg in Austria for the 2010/11 season.

Denver recorded 113 points in 50 games this past season to finish third in BCHL scoring, and first in points per game. Manderson is a three-year member of the Vees and has served as the team captain in each of the past two seasons. Denver was the longest serving member of the Vees last season, having amassed 221 points in 115 BCHL regular season games since his arrival in fall of 2007.

He was also a part of the 2008 BCHL Fred Page Cup Champion Vees and, with his junior eligibility having come to an end, is headed to Europe to begin his professional career. EC Red Bull Salzburg are coached by former NHL bench boss Pierre Page, and compete in the 10 team Erste Bank Eishockey Liga that has teams in Austria, Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia.

EC Red Bull Salzburg has won the league championship in three of the past four seasons. The Erste Bank Eishockey Liga was formally known as the Austrian Hockey League.

The Penticton Vees wish Denver continued success at the next level of his hockey career and thank Denver for his numerous contributions on and off the ice in Penticton.
