Tonight's RBC Cup showdown between the Vernon Vipers and Victoria Grizzlies is more than just a clash of two outstanding BCHL teams. When all is said and done, Tuesday's matchup will have implications from the top to bottom of the tournament standings.
With both teams entering their third game of the event, the Vipers hold an unblemished 2-0 record and can clinch a semi-finals berth (and possibly first place) with a win. The Grizzlies, on the other hand, can join Vernon with four points should they secure a victory.
Vipers forwards Braden Pimm and Mike Collins are currently holding down two of the top three spots on the scoring chart with 5 and 4 points respectively. Grizzlies blueliner Jeff Forsythe, meanwhile, put forth a three-point effort in Victoria's decisive 5-0 win over Kingston on Monday.
