Vernon Vipers alum Steven Weinstein, who played three seasons and won two national championships with the Snakes, has been named the Atlantic Hockey conference's Rookie of the Week.
Weinstein had four assists in Bentley’s 7-3 win at Sacred Heart on Tuesday in the team’s Atlantic Hockey opener. That was the first time a Bentley player has had that many assists in a game since Feb. 15, 2008, when Anthony Canzoneri accomplished the same feat against Connecticut.
The Los Angeles native played 153 career games in Vernon and totalled 10 goals and 49 assist along with just 12 penalty minutes in that time.
