Vipers keep rolling with home win over Timberwolves

It was business as usual for the Vernon Vipers on Saturday night, outscoring and outshooting another Interior Conference visitor in a 5-1 win at the Wesbild Centre.

Jonathan Milhouse scored a pair for Vernon — including the game winner on a second period power-play — and was named the game's first star, while Mike Collins contributed three assists. Sawyer Mick, Dylan Walchuk and Connor Jones rounded out the scoring for the Vipers.

Jason Diehl scored the lone tally for Williams Lake late in the second period on an unassisted effort. Timberwolves netminder Evan Dauenhauer was peppered by the Vipers, turning aside 33 shots — including 15 in each of the first and third periods.

Blake Voth had a far more comfrtable night in goal for Vernon, turning aside 14 of the 15 pucks sent his way.

Williams Lake concludes their three-game weekend road trip in Trail on Sunday, while the Vipers are idle until Friday when they travel to Westside.
