Jonathan Desbiens’ goal at 2:23 of overtime delivered a 3-2 win for the West Kelowna Warriors over the MJHL’s Portage Terriers Tuesday afternoon at the Crescent Point Energy Western Canada Cup.
Bryan Basilico staked the Warriors to an early 2-0 lead with a pair of first-period power-play goals.
But the Terriers replied with a Brett Orr goal late in the first and tied it in the second on a tally by Adam Wowryk.
Getting the start in the Warriors crease, Keelan Williams made 32 saves for the win.
West Kelowna is now 2-1 at the WCC. They play next on Thursday at 1 p.m. Pacific against the SJHL champion Melfort Mustangs.
