Williams Lake’s Donnelly commits to Div. III Williams College

The British Columbia Hockey League's Williams Lake Timberwolves are pleased to announce that goaltender Sean Donnelly has committed to attend Williams College and suit up for the NCAA Division III Ephs for the 2010/11 season.

Donnelly joined the Timberwolves midway through the 2009/10 campaign and helped solidify the team's goaltending position during their first season back in the BCHL. He finished the year with five victories and a 5.96 goals-against average in 34 appearances.

As an 18-year old, the White Rock, B.C. product backstopped the Junior B Richmond Sockeyes to league, provincial and Western Canadian champsionhips. His previous BCHL experience came with the Surrey Eagles during the 2006/07 season.

“The more I looked at Williams, the more I felt it was a good fit,” says Donnelly of the Williamstown, Mass.-based college. “I enjoy the smaller school setting and they have a great reputation for having students moving on to graduate schools.”

On the ice, Williams competes in the New England Small College Athletics Conference, where the Ephs finished third out of 10 teams last season with a 13-5-1 conference record.

“They play in maybe the perhaps the most competitive Division III conference from top to bottom,” says Donnelly, who is planning to pursue an Economics major while at school. “In net, they just had a senior graduate and the only returning goalie is going into his Junior year so it's a good spot for me to be in.”
