The Surrey Eagles and Quesnel Millionaires had no problem unloading the shots on Saturday night, but putting the puck in the net was considerably more difficult in a 2-1 Eagles' win on home ice.
The two teams combined for 71 shots, but it took a Michael Krgovish goal midway through the third period to break a 1-1 deadlock and secure two points for Surrey. Doug Marshall had opened the scoring for the home side on a first period power-play, while Millionaires forward Taylor Holst replied on the man advtantage at the 11:03 mark of the middle frame to draw Quesnel even. Krgovich and Cole Gelley each picked up multi-point nights in the win for Surrey.
Kirby Halcrow stood tall in net for Millionaires, turning aside 40 shots in a losing efforts. Paul Barclay wasn't as busy but remained solid in net for Surrey, allowing just a single goal while making 28 saves.
The Eagles close out a busy seven-games in ten-days stretch on Sunday when they visit the Langley Chiefs, while the Millionaires return home following a two-game Coastal trip to begin a three-game homestand on Thursday when the Vernon Vipers pay a visit.
