Bailey counts four as Warriors knock off Penticton

Trevor Bailey scored four goals and Quinn Gould picked up the third period winner as the Westside Warriors became just the third team to top the Penticton Vees in regulation this season, notching a 5-4 victory at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Bailey opened the scoring late in the first period off a Cam Reid set-up, and tallied again to double the Westside lead at the 4:27 mark of the second period. The Vees stormed back midway through the frame on goals from Beau Bennett and Logan Johnston that came in the span of 54 seconds.

Bailey's third and fourth goals were answered by a Matt Paltridge effort and another strike from Bennett, setting up Gould's heroics. The Warriors forward beat Vees starter Sean Bonar at the 11:43 mark of the third period to seal the win.

Bonar made 25 saves in the loss, while Westside netminder Kevin Jebson picked up the victory after turning side 33 shots.

The teams complete a weekend home-and-home series on Saturday evening at Royal LePage Place. Face-off is set for 7:00 PM.
