BCHL Friday: Mills ride five-goal period to win over T-Wolves

The Quesnel Millionaires busted out offensively in a big way on Friday night, scoring five second period goals in a 7-1 road victory over the Williams Lake Timberwolves.

Trever Hertz and Joshua Desmarais each struck for goals in the first period, leading into a middle frame where Desmarais posted a second marker and Darick Ste-Marie, Clayton Chessa, Taylor Holst and Jacob Verheyden added singles.

Ryan Stanimir put Williams Lake on the board with 45 seconds remaining in the second period, breaking Kirby Halcrow's shutout bid.

With the victory, the Millionaires broke a deadlock with Prince George and Trail and took sole possession of sixth place in the Interior Conference.

Williams Lake begins a seven-game stretch of action away from home on Saturday when they visit Merritt, while Quesnel is idle until next Friday when they travel to Salmon Arm.
