Bulldogs’ Mitch MacMillan commits to Northeastern

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are pleased to announce that forward Mitch MacMillan has committed to attend Northeastern University beginning in the fall of 2010.

The 20-year old from Penticton, B.C. has enjoyed an outstanding start to the 2009/10 season and currently leads all British Columbia Hockey League players with 19 goals in 20 games.

“Mitch is a quality person who has worked extremely hard for this opportunity,” Bulldogs head coach and general manager Nolan Graham says. “I'm proud to see Mitch accomplish his goal of obtaining an NCAA Division I scholarship.”

MacMillan is now in his third and final BCHL season. He began his career with stops in Powell River and Cowichan Valley, and has totalled 73 points in 66 games since joining Alberni Valley early in the 2008/09 campaign.

Founded in 1898, Northeastern University is a private research university located in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts. The Northeastern Huskies play in Hockey East, one of the nation's premier conferences.

The Huskies both a number of BCHL graduates, including current captain Tyler McNeely and 2009 Hoby Baker award nominee Brad Thiessen.
