Coastal Finals Update: Grizzlies edged by Kings

Game one started the coastal finals series with a closely fought game between the two top teams in the conference.

The Victoria Grizzlies went down swinging in the first game of the series, out shooting the Powell River Kings 43 to 28, but Kings goaltender Carsen Chubak put in a winning effort turning away 39 pucks on the night and leading his team to a 5-4 overtime road victory.

The Kings' Clay Harvey took home first star honours after scoring the game winner nine minutes into overtime and adding in a helper during regulation time. Jeff Forsythe has been solid for the Grizzlies in playoffs thus far. Friday saw him add another assist to his playoff point total of six and walk away with a third star ranking for his efforts.

Both conference finals have now seen the home team take on the first loss in the series. The Grizzlies will now try to redeem themselves in front of a home town crowd Saturday night for game two against the Kings.
