Coastal Game 3 Previews: Grizzlies and Capitals fight for series lead

Tonight Powell River will try to extend their playoff win streak to 3-0 while Surrey tries to take their first win away from the series at home. On the island Victoria and Cowichan Valley will both be put to the test in an attempt to edge out the competition for a lead in the series.

The Surrey Eagles fell short on their road trip to the Kings' place failing to pick up a game on the road, but tonight they will start their home portion of the playoff series hoping to snag a game and cut the Kings series lead in half.

At home the Eagles have split their regular season series with Powell River with both teams recording three wins. Surrey took one of their Ws in overtime while Powell River took two of their wins by one goal.

As it stands Powell River's Darcy Oakes is leading his team's strike against the Eagles with eight points rounding out the top three point getters during this year's playoffs. Oakes is a series short of the top two leaders but only one point back.

Cowichan Valley has been able to split their quarter final series so far on the road taking their first game against Victoria.

Tonight the Capitals will be going home, where the Grizzlies hope to return the favour of a defeat in front of a Cowichan Valley home crowd.

The Grizzlies will try to capitalize on the two week rest they had with their bye into the second round as the series wears on. While the Capitals will have to focus on the task at hand, shutting down the Grizzlies and putting pucks past Anthony Grieco who's stopped 51 of the last 57 shots he's faced.

This series has been a tight match up with the Capitals stealing one on the road and the Grizzlies taking one by four. Both teams are looking to gain momentum tonight as they move closer to the Fred Page Cup finals.
