Chilliwack Chiefs forward Darien Craighead has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 21, the league announced Monday.
Craighead had points in each of Chilliwack’s four wins last week, putting up six goals and four assists in the process. The Surrey, B.C. product started the week strong with a hat trick plus an assist in a 7-6 overtime home win over the Wenatchee Wild where he was named the game’s 1st Star. He followed that up with the game-winning tally in a 6-1 road win in Coquitlam and then had two helpers in a 5-0 win over Vernon. Craighead wrapped his week with another 1st Star after two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over Cowichan Valley.
The Northern Michigan recruit now leads the Chiefs with 39 assists on the season.
