Eagles players give toys, smiles at local hospital

The Surrey Eagles' 7th annual Teddy Bear Toss Friday December 10 saw the team collect more than 600 stuffed animals as over 1,100 fans came out and supported the event.

The team donated the toys which were split between the Surrey Memorial Hospital’s Childrens' ward and the Salvation Army. Brandon Morley scored “The Teddy Bear Goal” with a shorthanded marker 47 seconds into the third period when he beat Powell River Kings goalie Michael Garteig.

This week, Brad McGowan, Richard Vanderhoek, Daniel Gentzler, Jeff Vanderlugt and Winger delivered stuffed animals to children at Surrey Memorial Hospital.

Smiles, autographs, and well wishes were also delivered which brightened up many lives at the hospital.

Special thanks to Jason Howe and Christine at Surrey Memorial Hospital and Russ Holland and Lauren Chan from the Salvation Army. The Teddy Bear Toss was presented by the Peace Arch News and Surrey Leader.
