Ellis sets up four and Bailey scores winner as Westside tops ‘Backs

Westside defenceman Brendan Ellis assisted on four goals, including Trevor Bailey's overtime winner, as the Warriors came back from down two goals in the third period to top the Salmon Arm SilverBacks by a 5-4 margin at the Sunwave Centre on Saturday night. The SilverBacks took an early two-goal lead, as Josh Monk and David Killip scored just 1:18 apart early in the first period. But Westside would even the game, with Joel Woznikoski scoring before the end of the first before Grayson Downing netted a power-play marker at the 2:39 mark of the second.Salmon Arm's power-play continued to roll, however, with two more goals in the second, setting up a third frame that saw Westside force overtime on goals from Downing and Dru Morrison. Bailey then ended the game at the :56 mark of the first overtime period.Kevin Jebson picked up the win for the Warriors, stopping 19 shots, while Tony Ierfino made 30 saves in the loss.Westside is next in action on Tuesday when they host the Nanaimo Clippers, while the SilverBacks remain at home for a Wednesday visit from the Victoria Grizzlies.
