Ginn is HCA National Rookie of the Month

Matt Ginn, former Victoria Grizzlies netminder and now a freshman at the College of Holy Cross has been named the Hockey Commissioners Association’s National Rookie of the Month for February.

With Holy Cross, Ginn went 7-0-1 in the month with a 1.61 goals against average and a .937 save percentage. Along with his national honours he was named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week twice in February.

The Lindsay, Ont. native has made 526 saves and is 14-6-1 this season with two shutouts, leading the league with a .682 winning percentage while ranking seventh overall in the country. Ginn’s 14 wins are tied for fourth all-time for a Division I season at Holy Cross.

 

Ginn played for the Grizzlies during the 2010-11 season posting a 2.86 GAA and a .915 save percentage.
