Killip commits to Western Michigan

The British Columbia Hockey League's Salmon Arm SilverBacks are pleased to announce that third-year forward David Killip has committed to attend Western Michigan University and suit up for the NCAA Division I Mustangs for the 2011/12 season.

Killip was named the SilverBacks captain prior to the 2010/11 campaign. He is the team's top returning scorer after posting 32 goals and 74 points in his second BCHL season. The 19 year-old has been instrumental in the team's 8-2 start to the regular season. The Kelowna, B.C. native has totalled 43 goals and 94 points in 116 career games in Salmon Arm.

“We are very happy for David,” said SilverBacks GM/Coach Tim Kehler. “This commitment has been long in the making and I know that the Mustangs are getting a very capable athlete who will make lasting contributions to their institution.”

Killip will join former Langley Chiefs sniper Trevor Elias on the Mustangs roster.
