Kings Back in the Series with OT Win

The Home Sweet Home Signs are officially being removed from the Wesbild Centre and Powell River Recreation Complex as the Fred Page Cup Final has favoured the road teams.

The Powell River Kings got a huge goal from the Jordan Grant in the first overtime period to lift the Kings back into the series after dropping the first two games on home ice.

Kyle Leahy opened the scoirng in the first period for the Kings before Kellen Jones knotted the score at one before the first period came to an end.  The Vipers outshot the Kings 10-9 in an even period of play.

The second period was much the same with Connor Jones putting the Vipers ahead only to see Mat Bodie connect on a power-play with under two minutes remaining.  Again the Vipers held a one shot edge firing 9 at Carsen Chubak while Kings sent 8 at Andrew Hammond.

After a scoreless third period, the teams headed to the first extra frame knotted at two.  Grant's goal came on the King's first shot of the period at 4:05 with the assist going to Kyle Leahy.

Game 4 goes tomorrow night at the Wesbild Centre and the Kings win ensures at least a game 5 in Powell River Friday night.
