Kings’ Vos commits to Holy Cross

Powell River, BC – October 31, 2008 – The Powell River Kings are proud to announce that forward Erik Vos has committed to attend NCAA Division I Holy Cross for the 2009/10 season.

Vos brings a substantial offensive presence and is capable of playing diverse roles on the ice. Since coming back for his second season with the Kings, Erik’s play has stepped up a notch and he’s proven to be a well-rounded player that can contribute on two lines; five-on-five with Kyle Bodie and Chad Niddery and on the power play with Clay Harvey and Darcy Oakes.

The coaches know they can count on Erik to get the job done in tough situations as #7 has scored seven winning goals already this season.

“We are thrilled to have another King commit to an NCAA Division I program,” Kings head coach Kent Lewis says. “Over the summer he worked hard and he came back in fantastic physical and mental condition and was ready to go.”

“He’s off to a great start and we know that will continue now that he's committed.”

Vos will be joining the Crusaders in Worcester, Massachusetts to play under head coach Paul Pearl. Erik looks forward to playing the game he loves while pursuing a four-year accounting degree.

Congratulations Erik on this great achievement!
