Langley Chiefs forward Sims accepts scholarship to Connecticut

The Langley Chiefs are pleased to announce that 20-year old forward Jordan Sims has accepted a scholarship to attend the University of Connecticut and suit up for the NCAA Division I Huskies beginning in the fall of 2010.

Sims, who has scored eight goals and 18 points in 40 games with the Chiefs this season, will join former Langley assistant captain Justin Hernandez at Connecticut.

“Jordan is a good two-way player who we coveted in the offseason and we were happy to see him earn his scholarship,” says Chiefs associate coach Barry Wolff. “He should fit in well there and continue to grow as a player.”

Sims is the fifth Chiefs player who has earned a scholarship to play in the NCAA next season. He joins team captain Mac Roy (Alabama-Huntsville), Colton Beck (Alaska Fairbanks), Brad McBride (Air Force) and Tim Daly (St. Cloud State).

The entire Langley Chiefs organization would like to congratulate Jordan on this accomplishment.
