Langley’s Gerling commits to Div. I Connecticut for 2011/12 season

The Langley Chiefs Junior A Hockey Club is pleased to announce that forward Trevor Gerling has committed to attend the University of Connecticut and play for the NCAA Division I Huskies for the 2011/12 hockey season.

Gerling, who joined the Chiefs in 2008 and was named an assistant captain for the current campaign, has set personal highs with 12 goals and 45 points in his second season with the club. In 109 BCHL games, the Seattle, WA product has scored 18 times while adding 43 assists and posting 132 penalty minutes.

“Trevor has really developed as a player this year and has taken more responsibility both on and off the ice,” says Chiefs associate coach Barry Wolff.

Gerling will re-join the club for one final junior season in 2010/11 along with fellow committed players Tim Daly, Wyatt Galley, and Brad McBride. The entire Langley Chiefs organization would like to wish Trevor congratulations on this honour.
