New Year's Eve brings a special treat for BCHL fans this year as Swedish club team Malmo Redhawks drop in on the Powell River Kings for an exhibition game that kicks off a five-game series against BCHL competition.
Each of the Redhawks' five games will be broadcast on BCHL Live pay-per-view. The link to subscribe is http://bchl.neulion.com/bchl/
Malmo will play all four Vancouver Island teams after Powell River.
The Redhawks compete in Sweden's J20 SuperElit League, which is the highest-level junior league in the country. The Redhawks have been a stepping stone for many future National Hockey League players, including Vancouver Canucks forward Jannik Hansen, Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Kim Johnsson and Edmonton Oilers rookie Magnus Paajarvi.
