Moore huge in between the pipes to earn POW

Salmon Arm SilverBacks’ goaltender Kris Moore has been named the British Columbia Hockey League Player of the Week for the week ending March 13, the league announced Monday.

Moore has led the SilverBacks in their series against the Penticton Vees posting a 95.18 save percentage with a goals-against average of just 2.00 and collecting three out of four wins in the process.

The 6-foot, 202 pound Calgary native played his best during game three when he stopped 51 of 52 shots in a 2-1 win at home and was the main reason the SilverBacks got out to an early 3-0 series lead, as he stopped 131 of 135 shots and claimed the 1st star in three straight contests.

Honorable mentions this week include Langley Chiefs sniper Matt Ius (five games, three goals, seven assists, one 1st star, one 3rd star), Victoria Grizzlies net minder Matt Ginn (3-1, 2.75 GAA, 92.8 save percentage), and Surrey Eagles forward Brad McGowan (five games, two goals, seven assists, one 1st star, one 2nd star)
