Nanaimo Clippers grads Glass and LeNeveu ink NHL contracts for 2010

The British Columbia Hockey League's Nanaimo Clippers are pleased to announce that a pair of the team's alumni playing professionally have signed new NHL contracts for the 2010/11 season.

Former Clippers forward Tanner Glass is rejoining the Vancouver Canucks for a second season after helping the club to a Pacific Division title in 2009/10. Glass suited up in 67 games during his first year in Vancouver, scoring four goals and totalling 11 points.

The former Dartmouth Uninversity captain will enter his fourth NHL season in September. He began his career with the Florida Panthers, who drafted him in the ninth round of the 2003 Entry Draft directly from the Clippers.

Meanwhile, fellow Nanaimo alum David LeNeveu has signed on with the Columbus Blue Jackets. The 27-year old spent the 2009/10 season playing in Europe with Salzburg EC, who he joined following six seasons spent in the Phoenix Coyotes and Anaheim Ducks organizations.

LeNeveu was originally drafted in the second round, 46th overall, by the Coyotes in 2002. He spent parts of two seasons in the NHL, appearing in 21 games from 2005 to 2007.

The Nanaimo Clippers organization would like to congratulate Tanner Glass and David LeNeveu for their continued professional success.
