Natural hat trick for Gould leads Chiefs to win in Salmon Arm

After a scoreless first period in Surrey, the Eagles scored four in the second and pair in the third to down Alberni Valley 6-5. Leading 4-2 after two, Surrey allowed the Bulldogs to tie the game early in the second with Lars Hepso's penalty shot goal knotting things up. But Demico Hannoun and Alex Hagen replied to restor the two goal lead before Hepso added one more.

Billy Faust picked up his third shutout of the season for Nanaimo in a 5-0 win over Trail. Dan Correale's shorthanded tally early in the second would be all the goals the Clips needed on the night. Andrew Gladiuk added a pair in the third.

Chase Golightly scored the game-winner, and final goal of the game, 8:53 into the second period as Prince George downed Langley 3-2. Jim Kruger made 42 saves in the Langley crease to take 2nd Star but Kirk Thompson didn't allow a goal after the first period to get his seventh win.

In his second game with the Cowichan Valley Capitals, Richard Vandherhoek took 1st Star in a 4-2 Caps win over Victoria. The Grizzlies opened the scoring on Wes Myron's goal but Devin Gannon responded for the Caps. Victoria tied it 2-2 early in the third but Logan Proulx' shorthanded effort and Mikael Jung's empty-netter sealed it.

In Westside, the Merritt Centennials scored the first three goals of the game on their way to a 4-2 win over the Warriors. Max French's goal late in the second and Garrett Skrbich's midway into the third got the home side within one but Billy Marshall's empt-net goal sealed the deal.

The Penticton Vees scored the first seven goals of the game and the visiting Powell River Kings got the final two as Penticton won a franchise-record 18th in a row. 1st Star Mario Lucia had a hat trick and Mike Reilly had a goal and two helpers. Jarryd Leung and Chris Williams had the Kings' goals.
