Penticton Vees name Johnson as team captain for 2010/11 season

The British Columbia Hockey League's Penticton Vees are pleased to announce that 20-year old defenceman Derik Johnson has been named team captain for the 2010/11 season. Johnson has committed to University of Minnesota-Duluth for the 2011-2012 season.

Derik is excited to come back and not only run the D-core but also help lead the team from the locker room. He is an outstanding leader on and off the ice, and his dedication and commitment to the game are a big reason why the Vees have selected him as their next captain.

Logan Johnston will be an alternate captain again next season, and the Vees will name other members to the leadership group as the summer progresses.

The Vees congratulate Derik on this honour and are excited to work with him again in the coming season.
