Pritchard earns ECAC rookie honour

St. Lawrence University recently spun out of a five-game losing skid and is currently on a four-game unbeaten streak that happens to coincide with freshman Jacob Pritchard’s most productive stretch of the season.

The Powell River Kings graduate has six points in his last four games and the Saints are 3-0-1 in that span. The Macomb, Michigan product recently was named the ECAC Hockey rookie of the week for his three-goal weekend Feb. 5 and 6 against conference rivals RPI and Union.

Pritchard sealed the deal in a 3-0 win over RPI on Saturday with an empy-netter and followed that with the team’s opening goal and the tying goal in a 3-3 draw against Union.

The 6-foot, 185-pound forward is now the highest-scoring freshman on the Saints roster with five goals and six assists in 25 games.

Last season, his lone campaign in the BCHL, Pritchard racked up 39 goals and 37 assists for 76 points in 54 games to lead the Kings and wind up fifth in BCHL scoring.
