Quesnel’s Hertz named BCHL Player of the Week

Quesnel Millionaires forward Trever Hertz has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending January 31st, the league announced Monday.

Hertz scored three goals and added five assists in a trio of road games. He began the week by scoring twice and totalling four points in a victory over the Williams Lake Timberwolves. On Friday, he netted a goal and two helpers in a narrow 6-5 loss to the Westside Warriors, and he closed out the week on Sunday with an assist on his team's lone goal in a 4-1 loss to Penticton.

The 20-year old currently leads the Millionaires with 33 goals and 67 points, which are good for fifth and 11th respectively amongst all BCHL players. Hertz is nearing the end of a three-year BCHL career that has seen him tally 195 points in 175 games, primarily in Quesnel.

Honourable mentions for this week's award include Merritt's Dustin Johnson, Surrey's Tyler Morley, Nanaimo's Teal Burns and Powell River's Matt Garbowsky.

Hertz and the Millionaires are next in action on Wednesday when they host the Victoria Grizzlies at the Quesnel Twin Arenas.
