Seven points from captain key Vees victory over Millionaires

Denver Manderson continued his push for the BCHL scoring title on Saturday evening, netting two goals and adding five assists as the Penticton Vees cruised to a 7-3 victory over the Quesnel Millionaires.

Manderson opened the scoring 4:30 into regulation with a power-play effort, while Luke Curadi and Alex Szczechura — with back-to-back goals — extended the Penticton lead to four before the first intermission. Beau Bennett scored early in the second period for his fourth point of the night.

Justin Hogan and Taylor Holst scored to bring the Millionaires within three goals in the third period, but the Vees picked up goals from Matt Paltridge and Manderson to put the game out of reach.

Sean Bonar picked up the win in net for Penticton, stopping 35 shots. Kirby Halcrow allowed five goals before before being replaced by Michael Smith, who stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced in relief.

The Vees are next in action on Friday when they make the trip to Merritt, while Quesnel is also idle through the week before hosting the Prince George Spruce Kings to kick off next weekend.
