Penticton Vees grad and Colgate Raiders senior forward Austin Smith led the Raiders to an unbeaten December with a 3-0-1 record. He had 10 points on four goals and six assists. He posted goals in three of the four games played and scored in all four.
Smith scored two goals, including the game-winner against Clarkson in a 4-2 win. He also scored once and added three assists for four points in a 6-2 victory over St. Lawrence and assisted on Colgate's lone goal in a 1-1 tie with No. 5 Merrimack on Dec. 10.
He came off the break with a goal and two assists against Canisius. Smith has scored in nine straight games and has 16 points during seven-game unbeaten streak for the Raiders.
This is the second Player of the Month recongnition of the season for the Dallas, Texas native who played the 2007-08 season with the Vees scoring 32 goals and 35 assists in 60 games.
