The Prince George Spruce Kings would like to thank everybody who contributed to the success of the 28th Annual Spruce Kings Show Home Lottery from the businesses that helped with the construction and finishing of the house itself to all of the people that purchased a ticket making this the most successful Show Home Lottery to date.
On Sunday, February 14th the grand prize draw was made at the house in front of numerous witnesses marking the end of the Lottery and the start of a life changing experience. Congratulations to Nadine Herold of Toms Lake, BC who purchased ticket number 2613 from the 24 hour lottery telephone line. Nadine Herold’s ticket was one of 7,500 tickets in the draw barrel, the most tickets ever made available for the single largest fundraiser for the Prince George Spruce Kings Junior Hockey Club of the British Columbia Hockey League.
With 501 more tickets available for this lottery than the two previous sell-outs, this year sell-out was reached nine days prior to the grand prize draw.
“This is something that just couldn’t have been done without the overwhelming support of people in Prince George and throughout the Province,” said Spruce Kings Show Home Lottery manager, Jim Young. “We can’t thank everybody enough for the fantastic support that we have received this year in making this our third consecutive sell-out; what this means to our organization is nothing short of incredible.”
The legal process of transferring the home will now begin putting the custom built 1501 square foot house valued at $376,000 into Nadia Herold’s name. Built by Ebb Construction, the ground level rancher with a partially finished basement features a number of touches from local businesses including the exterior siding from W.R. Ventures, an alarm system from Curtis Elite Alarms, granite counter tops from Van Way Cabinets, lighting from McInnis Lighting, closets from Closets-Done-Right and seven appliances from the Northern Hardware. The washing machine and dryer, fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave as well as a TV were all part of the grand prize.
