The Grizzlies defeat the Kings 4-2

Matthew Galajda came up big, stopping 38 of 40 shots throughout the game. The Victoria Grizzlies took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Nick Guiney.

Nick Guiney had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 goals and Tyler Welsh chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Donaldson opened the scoring for Powell River with a goal at 5:54 with helpers from his linemates, Evans and Berard. Coblenz deposited a goal at 10:15 with assists from Steen and Cairns.

In the second, Welsh finally put Victoria on the board with a goal at 7:10 with a helper from fellow Grizzlies forward Mokhtari.

In the third, Rome scored a goal at 6:58 with an assist from defenseman Van Lierop. Guiney quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:27 with helpers from his linemates, Welsh and Mokhtari. Guiney netted a goal at 19:15 with assists from Mokhtari and Pears.

The Grizzlies’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Galajda’s big night as he stopped 38 of the 40 shots he faced. Galajda’s counterpart, Wilson, also had a big night, managing to stop 39 of 42, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Victoria Grizzlies’ record to (392-267-50-0)
