The Smoke Eaters crushed the Eagles 7-2

Tanner Marshall came up big, stopping 29 of 31 shots throughout the game. The Trail Smoke Eaters took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Blaine Caton.

Kale Howarth chipped in with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Ross Armour did his part, adding 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

In the second period, Armour opened the scoring for Trail with a goal at 3:37 with helpers from his linemates, Glasman and Howarth. Jones netted a goal at 5:40 with helpers from his linemates, Ghirardosi and Moon. Caton quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 6:40. Ring put in a goal at 19:34 with an assist from his teammate Glasman.

During the third period, Merriman finally put Surrey on the board with a goal at 0:37 with helpers from his linemates, Wesley and Robert. Danol deposited a goal at 7:18 with an assist from Nelson. Howarth quickly followed with a goal at 7:41 with helpers from Ring and Armour. Murphy scored a goal at 15:54 with an assist from Tuck. Howarth quickly followed with a goal at 17:22 with helpers from his linemates, Glasman and Armour.

The Smoke Eaters’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Marshall’s big night as he stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced. Marshall’s counterpart, Davidson, also had a big night, managing to stop 22 of 26, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Trail Smoke Eaters’ record to (4-1-1-0).
