Vees’ Perdicaro nets invite to Islanders camp

The Penticton Vees are counting on forward Anthony Perdicaro to be a large part of their charge to repeat as Fred Page Cup champions in 2009. But that doesn't mean that the 19-year old forward doesn't have his sights set beyond junior hockey. On Monday, he took to the ice on the first day of the New York Islanders summer prospects camp.

At the camp, Perdicaro will have an excellent opportunity to impress Islanders management and earn a spot at a future pro training camp.

“Anthony is a big, strong power forward who has pro potential,” Vees head coach Fred Harbinson said. “He's trained very hard and I know he's excited about this opportunity.”

Perdicaro joined the Vees shortly after Christmas and tallied 14 points in 17 regular season games. The East Rockaway, New York native also enjoyed stints in the USHL, OHL and QMJHL prior to arriving in Penticton.
