Weatherby's hat trick helped the Wild crush the Capitals 11-1

Jasper Weatherby led the way with a hat trick as the Wenatchee Wild crushed the Cowichan Valley Capitals 11-1 in a home game at Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee. Lukas Svejkovsky, Murphy Stratton and Cooper Zech also had big nights with 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists), 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) and 4 points (0 goals, 4 assists) respectively. In addition, the Wenatchee Wild's offense had a big night, peppering the Capitals with 54 shots throughout the game. The Wenatchee Wild took the lead early in the first on a goal from Lukas Svejkovsky and never looked back.

Lucas Sowder chipped in with 2 goals and Chad Sasaki did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first, Sowder opened the scoring for the Wild with a goal at 0:21 with helpers from his linemates, Stratton and Weatherby. Svejkovsky netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 3:58 with assists from teammates Lippis and Kim. Sasaki deposited a goal at 7:26 with helpers from Svejkovsky and Stratton. Lakoduk finally put the Capitals on the board with a goal at 15:48 with an assist from Mactavish.

In the second, Weatherby answered for Wenatchee with a goal at 3:52 with helpers from Zech and Stratton. Weatherby scored a goal at 9:08 with assists from his linemates, Svejkovsky and Stratton. Weatherby netted a goal at 14:55 with helpers from Lippis and Sasaki. Svejkovsky quickly followed with a goal at 16:05 with assists from Bjork and Zech. Morton quickly followed with a goal at 16:21 with helpers from Arnold and Demin. Stratton quickly followed with a goal at 17:29 with assists from Weatherby and Demin.

In the third, Sowder deposited a goal at 2:20 with helpers from Morton and Zech. Iannone put in a goal at 19:16 with assists from Arnold and Zech.

Wenatchee’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Eisele as he stopped 12 of the 13 shots he faced. Eisele’s counterpart, Marcoux, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 36, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Wenatchee Wild’s record to (4-1-0-0).
