Alberni Valley’s MacMillan named Player of the Week

Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Mitch MacMillan has been named the BC Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending December 21st, the league announced Monday.

MacMillan scored four goals and added two assists in the Bulldogs' two games last week. First, he scored once and added helpers in a 6-4 victory over Cowichan Valley. Two days later he notched a first period hat-trick in a win over the Prince George Spruce Kings.

The 19-year old has played a crucial role in Alberni Valley's resurgence in recent weeks. After a poor start, the Bulldogs have posted a 6-4-0-2 record in their past dozen games and MacMillan has contributed eight goals and seven assists during that run.

The Penticton, B.C. native now sits in a tie for sixth in BCHL goal scoring with 24.

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are next in action on Saturday, January 3rd when they visit the Victoria Grizzlies.
