Bulldogs take double-OT win over Rivermen after 57 shots on net

Daniel Delbianco's goal at 1:18 of the second overtime came on Alberni Valley's 57th shot of the game and gave the home side a 3-2 win over the Langley Rivermen.

Rivermen netminder Jim Kruger kicked out 54 saves, earning his team a single point in a game where the Bulldogs had 17 shots each period and six more in OT.

Thomas Nitsche's goal for Langley with less than two minutes left forced extra time after Tyler Berkholt had given Alberni Valley a 2-1 lead miday through the third. Kruger was named 1st Star.

Goaltending was also the story in Trail where Lyndon Stanwood and Victoria's Garrett Rockafellow were the 1st and 2nd Stars but it was the home side taking a 3-2 win. Tanner Clarkson had a pair of goals for the Smokies and Garrett McMullen's empty-netter was the winner. Coltyn Hansen replied late for Victoria but that's as close as they got.

A goal each period propelled the Merritt Centennials to a 3-1 road win over the Vernon Vipers. Dylan Chanter opened the scoring for the Cents and Brendan Lamont put them up a pair before Colton Sparrow got the Snakes on the board. Regan Soquila's empty-netter was the final tally.

The Coquitlam Express moved two points closer to the Powell River Kings with a 4-1 win at home. The Express got two goals from Mitch Nardi and led 4-0 going into the third where Matt Scarth got the lone Kings goal. Khaleed Devji made 30 saves to take 1st Star.

After a scoreless first period in Chilliwack, 1st Star Brett Knowles set up the opening goal by Matt Brown and then scored the eventual winner in the third in a 3-1 Caps win. The Chiefs got within one when Garrett Forster tallied on the power play but Logan Proulx's late goal sealed it.

A three-goal first period was all the scoring the Penticton Vees needed in a 6-1 road win over the Salmon Arm SilveBacks. Former SilverBack Bryce Gervais was 1st Star with a goal and an assist. The Vees were up 6-0 early in the third on Connor Reilly's second before Mak Barden broke up Michael Garteig's shutout bid.
